When I'm trying to update a row the Row Updating event doesn't fire. When I'm over the update link I see the following message on IE status bar: javascript: Web For_Do Post Bae,true)) In my web application I have the same markup code for the gridview in other pages and the Row Updating event works fine . This introductory course to Windows 7 environment will teach you about working with the Windows operating system. I am asking that part where you are fetching records from DB and binding the gridview and then handling the events of the gridview. The only difference in this one is that in one of my edititemtemplate i have a dropdownlist. I'm databinding the data to the gridview manually with a dataset. You will learn about basic functions including start menu; the desktop; managing files, folders, and libraries. Get more info about an IP address or domain name, such as organization, abuse contacts and geolocation.Data Bind() in Row Editing, I said nothing about what might happen if you removed it. Then set your breakpoints in Row Command, Row Editing, and Row Updating and we'll see what happens. David OK, I'm offically out of bullets, at least for now. If I get some time, I'll see if I can duplicate this, but I'm suspecting there's something out there that neither of us have looked at yet. How do I get the old values in a gridview row in the row_updating event? But it doesn't work for index items greater than 0. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. The call looked like this:exec Update Institution @Inst ID = 42, @Inst Name = NULL, @Addr Line1 = NULL, @Addr Line2 = NULL, @Addr Line3 = NULL, @Addr Line4 = NULL, @City = NULL, @State = NULL, @Country = NULL, @Postal = NULL, @Institution Name = N'Ar Qule Incorporated', @Billing Address Line1 = N'19 Presidential Way', @Billing Address Line2 = NULL, @Billing Address Line3 = NULL, @Billing Address Line4 = NULL, @Billing Address City = N'Woburn', @Billing Address Postal = N'01801'now that I've fixed the Update SP to have matching parameter names, I get a different error, because it still can't find the data for the two drop-downs, State & Country, so it passes NULL.

Hi Ravi, You have set the ASPx Grid View's Data Source to a datatable containing already fetched records. So, to resolve this issue, you should set the ASPx Grid View's Data Source to an object containing modified data.

Greetings; I have read several of the previous help questions on when the grid View Row Updating event doesn't fire. The routine loading of the product table now happens only on the first pass through the code behind.

I am confused at this point on why my markup and code behind is not touching the Row Updating event when Update button is clicked. The code works as I intended it to (and is listed below).

Grid View Row' So i decided to use a Data Table for it and i tried to convert the current Sql Data Source which is bounded to the Grid View at that moment, to a Data Table as you can see. i took this sample as an example for Row Updating event: again.

I have a Grid View, where some of the editable items need to be drop-downs.

The Row Update event will load a copy of the product table from the database after successfully updating a row.
